DISASTER ASSISTANCE,DISASTER RECOVERY AND EMERGENCY GRANTS:
Over the past years we have seen a significant increase in Disaster funding requests as our nation has been impacted in many ways through fire, flood, drought, cyclones etc. Impact has been seen by individuals through to whole communities and the Australian Lions Foundation has provided support funding to assist ways to match the needs.
The Foundation has made a number of changes to the grants criteria and procedure to streamline applications to match the needs being sought by Districts.
Assistance can be sought by Districts accessing Three Grants available, and the following information will provide a brief background on each grant. Prior to making any applications, Clubs or District should refer to the Grant Application Procedures to ensure all details are completed to enable the Directors to consider each application. All grants are considered on an individual basis by the Directors.
DISASTER ASSISTANCE GRANTS:
Disaster Assistance Grants are provided to Districts on request from Districts Governors. The requests may be for local support through to isolated District impacts such as fire or flooding or to larger cross border or nationally impacted disasters where major support is needed and where it impacts a number of Districts.
Funds are immediately available to Districts to provide support to Clubs who are assisting those impacted by the identified disaster. Once a grant has been provided, the Foundation seeks confirmation from each District that the disbursement of funds has been completed as per the instruction criteria and signed-off by that District. An Accountability Form is provided to the District when advising of each Grant Approval.
Applications for Disaster Assistance Grants should be made to the Foundation’s Chairperson.
Applicants desiring funds from the Foundation should provide details as specified in the Grant Application.
The initial contact for Disaster Assistance, Disaster Recovery and Emergency Grants is the Foundation Chairperson: firstname.lastname@example.org
