ALF PID Tony Benbow Chairman and Director 'V' Districts


Tony is a member of the Lions Club of South Vermont (V5) with 32 years membership. He has held a number of positions at Club level (including 3 terms as President), District level (including District Governor) and was MD201 Council Chairman for 2007/2008. Tony was then appointed to terms as the Constitutional Area Leader for both the Global Leadership Team and Global Membership Teams for CA7. He was elected V District’s Director at the Foundation’s AGM in 2008.

As well as his Director role, Tony also carries added responsibility and duties as our Chairman. Tony is a member of several professional associations and is a retired banker of 39 years experience where he held various senior management positions. Tony and his Lions Lady Sue have 2 children. Tony was elected International Director for Constitutional Area 7 at the International Convention in Japan in 2016 and will serve in that role for two years.

Deputy Chairman PDG Allan Cooper


Allan has been a member of the Lions Club of Booragoon (W2) for 30 years where he has held many positions, including that of President (2 times), Secretary (9 times) and Treasurer (1 time). 

At District level, Allan has also held many positions over the years, including that of District Governor in 2015/2016 and Cabinet Treasurer (5 times). He was also the Treasurer of the Lions Hearing Foundation of WA for 10 years and was the Treasurer of the Multiple District Conventions held in Perth in 1993 and 2000.

Allan was elected as the W Districts Director at the Foundation’s AGM in May 2016.

He is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), now retired, who spent most of his working career in the banking, building society and credit union industries.

Allan is married to Lion Wendy and they have a daughter and two young grandsons.

Secretary and Director 'T' Districts David Triffett


David is a member of the Lions Club of Glenorchy City. Since joining in January 2001 David served as Club President 2 times, 1 term of Secretary, 3 terms as Treasurer and along with most other board positions David was also instrumental in the growth of the Glenorchy Leo Club along with 2 other Leo Clubs in the greater Hobart area.

At District Level David has served 2 years as Cabinet Secretary, 3 years as District MERL Chairman, 2 years as GMT Chairman, and is a graduate of the Faculty Development Institute along with New Club Development Consultant with Region and Zone Chair portfolios. David has a keen interest with many community activities, Chairmanship of 8 years the Glenorchy Christmas Carols Committee, assisting with the Australia Day Committee and previous to joining Lions an instructor for boat safety and licensing for the Volunteer Coastal Patrol.

His awards include Melvyn Jones Fellow, James D Richardson Award, and Tasmanian Lions Fellow, International presidents Leadership Medal, 2 Star Awards, DG Appreciation and Club Appreciation Awards. In 2009 David was awarded the Glenorchy Citizen of the Year award for services to Lions and Community. David is married to Lions Lady Carolyn and has 2 adult children and 2 grandchildren.

Promotions Chairman and Director 'C' Districts


Yvonne Joined Lions International at the Lions Club of Narrogin (W2) in February 1998. Apart from her Club involvement at Narrogin, she was Secretary of the Dryandra Woodlands Management Board for 3 years.

Along with her husband PDG Ken, she transferred to the Lions Club of Rocky River (C1) in 2004, and then to Lions Club of Clare District (C1) in 2005.

Yvonne has held several positions at Club Level, including President, Secretary, Membership Chairperson, and at District Level has been a Zone Chairman, Cabinet Secretary, and is currently ALF District Chairperson. Yvonne has also served on three District Convention Committees, one as Secretary and two as Cabinet Secretary.
The Pinery Fire which occurred in November 2015 saw the need for some major support from the Australian Lions Foundation, and as District Chairperson Yvonne was able to help conduct interviews with those affected by the fires to ascertain the level of help required by individuals and families. This involvement confirmed with Yvonne her desire to be involved with the Foundation as a Director, and she was elected to this position at the Hobart Centenary Convention in May 2017. Currently her position with the ALF is Promotions Chairperson.

Her awards include a James D Richardson Honour Award, a Barry J Palmer Recognition Award and she is a Melvin Jones Fellow.

Currently semi-retired, Yvonne enjoys her part time work as Cellar Door Wine Sales assistant in the Clare Valley, and is married to PDG Ken Bradford.

Grants Chairman - Director 'n' Districts


Ken’s late father Fred was Charter VP of Cessnock Lions in 1953 (15th Club in Australian), and Ken attended his first Lions Meeting as a 6 year old – Cessnock Lions 1st Christmas Party (he received a gift from Santa and was hooked!)

Raised in a busy Lions family, Ken joined Cessnock Lions in his own right in 1980, after his marriage to Christine, and has served on Cessnock’s Board every year since (except his DG year), in all positions including 3x President, 3x Secretary, 5x Treasurer, Convention  Treasurer & Convention Secretary. He first served on District Cabinet in 1984 as Zone Chairman and since then has served more than 23+ District Cabinets and held all senior District Executive and Administrative Offices – including DG (2006/07), Lt.Gov, DDG, ZC, Secretary, Treasurer, CBL, Leadership, and others. Ken is a former Councilor, and has many former and current non-Lions community involvements. He and Christine have 3 children and 2 young grandchildren, and since his retirement from the family business they subsist on their commercial rentals and investment income.

Ken was elected to the ALF Board in May 2012, and is very proud and humble to now be able to further serve Lions through ALF.

Awards Chairman - district 'Q' director


Lesley is a member of the Logan West Lions Club in the Q1 District where she has 14 years membership. Lesley has held a number of positions at Club level,  President twice and six years as Secretary. At District level Membership, Leadership and District Governor. At multiple District Lesley was recently appointed to the Multiple District Leadership Team.

She has been in Hotel and Restaurant Management all her working life, and has a degree in Hospitality and Hotel Management. Her partner in life is her wonderful husband PDG David, they have three beautiful daughters and seven grandchildren.
