Dear Lions and Leos,

Thank you to the many Districts and Clubs for their support of the NSW & QLD Flood Appeal. The response has been excellent with funds raised to date of $884,190.

The Foundation has already provided 6 Grants totaling over $230,000 direct to Clubs in affected areas and we are currently processing another 3 grants for similar assistance to other areas to the value of over $250,000.

These grants have been to supply essential needs, vouchers for food, clothing, personal needs, cleaning products as well as household items including bedding, cooking utensils , fridges, tables and chairs to assist these many community members affected.

As we are all aware, Lismore and surrounding areas have been hit again with heavy rains and flooding.  Our Clubs in the area have done a wonderful job to support those impacted and now the situation is repeating.  Let us all hope that water levels do not get worse, and drop quickly.

Our thanks and acknowledgement goes to the many Clubs who are on the “front line” directly supporting their communities with bbq’s, food supply and assistance, as well as lending moral support.  All this effort is so appreciated.  Please continue to support the National Disaster Appeal as we know the need for our assistance will go  on for some time to come.  Our Clubs will be there and so too will “Your Foundation”.
