Sari-Elle takes on World's Highest Marathon for ALF

Sari-Elle will be raising funds and awareness for the incredible impact Lions volunteers

Australian Lions Foundation Ambassador Sari-Elle Kraemer is on a mission – to not only climb 17,598 feet above sea level to Everest Base Camp but to then also run 42.195 kms crisscrossing the high Sherpa trails of Khumbu Valley!

Everest Marathon is the world’s highest marathon and in training for the May 2024 event Sari-Elle will be raising funds and awareness for the incredible impact Lions volunteers have in their communities with the assistance of Australian Lions Foundation.

Sari-Elle is raising funds for the Australian Lions Foundation Compassionate Fund. ALF’s Compassionate Grants are provided to assist people or families in necessitous circumstances. This may be by the provision of medical aids, equipment or cash to provide relief from significant hardship.

The Australian Lions Foundation works closely with a local Lions Club to administer the funds.

Sari-Elle was inspired when hearing of a story of a young Australian girl who was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Naturally, the family looked at all options and located a Doctor in the US who was treating this condition. The Australian Lions Foundation’s Compassionate Grant support helped this young girl travel with her family for treatment in the US for over 12 months. She is now living a normal teenage lifestyle back in Queensland.

Sari-Elle is on a mission to raise $120,000 to help change more lives through Australian Lions Foundation’s Compassionate Fund.
